Discraft Avenger SS - Understable Distance Driver

Do you like rollers? If so, you’ll love the Avenger SS from Discraft. This 10-speed is the polar opposite of the Raptor and Machate as it’s one of the flippiest drivers offered in the Discraft line-up!

Coming at 10/5/-3/1 the Avenger SS can be found in nearly every professional Discraft players bag. It acts as either the perfect understable roller disc or a get out of jail free card when scrambling in deep rough.

Beginner players don’t worry, the Discraft Avenger SS isn’t just for advanced players. In fact, beginner disc golfers will love this 10 speed driver for its ease of use and high speed, making it the perfect distance driver for players will low arm speed.

Here’s what Discraft has to say about the Avenger SS:

The Avenger SS is a Distance Driver for the rest of us, combining long glide, ease of control, and durable Z plastic. Throw it hard and flat for a slight fade to the right, then watch the Avenger SS keep on gliding through a smooth, gentle finish. Try one, and you'll be hooked.

Discraft Avenger SS Flight Numbers

Speed: 10

Glide: 5

Turn: -3

Fade: 1

Discraft Stability Rating: .5

The Avenger SS is one of the most consistent discs in the Discraft line-up. It’s nearly identical in its flight in most plastics and is highly responsive to spin and speed.

Throw the Discraft Avenger SS with a lot of power and speed and it will turn over and roll. Thrown with more finesse and you can make the driver fly really far, really easily.

When scrambling, the variety mentioned above means you can hit crazy lines! Throw it hard on a steep hyzer and watch the understable Avenger SS flip to flat and turn while gliding forward. Throw it on anhyzer and find quick and tight roller lines. This disc is a ton of fun and a must-have when playing on tricky holes.

Plastics for the Avenger SS

The Discraft Avenger SS comes in a variety of plastics - take a look below to read our description of a handful of these runs and find the perfect Avenger SS for your bag!

Z: The flight of a Z Avenger SS may be preferable to players looking for just a touch more stability in their flippy slot. Find one of these in a domey run and you’ll have a hyzer flip machine with mellow characteristics. Find a flatter run and you can hit sharper angles!

ESP: The Avenger SS really shines in the ESP plastic. In fact, many players will cycle their ESP Avenger SS to create ultra-flippy and stable-flippy slots in their bag. Players like Paul Ulibarri, Brodie Smith, and many others.

Recycled ESP: This is a fun one and a great way to support a cleaner environment around you. The Recycled ESP Avenger SS feels great and flies great. This run of plastics utilizes the scraps of unused ESP in the Discraft factory to create new discs. These Avenger SS’s have a ton of flex and are great for cold weather disc golf!

X Line: If you’re new to disc golf or remember when you were, the X Line Avenger SS is a super common disc and one many players have experience throwing. This is the baseline version of the Avenger SS and is fairly flexy and super flippy. You can find these in the Discraft beginner starter packs!

Discraft Avenger SS Skill level recommendations

Beginner: While there may be some pressure to get started throwing overstable discs, new players will benefit greatly from the Avenger SS. This is a super flippy disc that will help beginners learn how to throw a hyzer flip and low power players get to farther distances.

Intermediate: If you’re learning how to throw a roller, the Discraft Avenger SS is the perfect intermediate disc golf disc. It is fairly easy to flip over and for that matter is forgiving for those without a perfect roller.

Advanced: Discraft sponsored professionals are either throwing a Heat or an Avenger SS as their primary roller. If you prefer a 10 speed disc in that slot you need to bag an Avenger SS! Let’s also not forget how good of a scramble disc this is! Use this disc to get out of tricky situations anywhere on the course.
