MVP Atom Flight Review

The MVP Atom is a straight controllable putter, much loved by MVP fans for tee shots. While it's a great putting putter, it's greatest strengths lie in it's throwing potential!

An extremely versatile disc, the Atom holds just about any line you put it on. If you need a sweeping turn, put it up high on anny. If you have some power, hyzerflip it for a laser straight flight.

For softer upshots, it has enough stability to invoke confidence, and produce consistent approaches that make your short game rock solid!

Now when it comes to putting with the Atom, there are several draw cards. The first is the shallow and beadless rim, this limits glide slightly, so it's a great option for spin putters who don't enjoy beads. It's also very straight, making putting a simple point and shoot procedure.

The Atom is a straight flyer with enormous potential off the tee and on long approaches. Right off the shelf, the Atom has a neutral stability with just a bit of fade. In premium GYRO® plastics the Atom will retain its neutral stability indefinitely. In Electron baseline plastic the Atom will wear into an extremely straight and floaty putter, with extra tactile feedback inside the circle or in adverse weather.

Most players have found the MVP Atom to be slightly less stable than the flight numbers suggest. This is especially true for Atoms in Electron plastic. MVP's numbers for Electron versions reflect this at 3 | 3 | -0.5 | 0

Skill Level Recommendations

Beginner

The Atom is a great choice for beginner disc golfers! Whether you're looking for a putting putter, and approach disc, or a controllable driving putter, this is a great disc to start out with! Consider trying it out in Electron plastic for a more beginner friendly flight path.

Intermediate

Intermediate players will love the versatility this disc has to offer! You'll be able to tear up any short wooded courses with the MVP Atom alone! Turnovers, check. Dead straight hyzerflips, check. Stable approaches, check!

Advanced

If you're an advanced player with a lot power, you may want to try a more stable putter for maxium distance. We'd recommend the Envy in this instance. If you're looking for a wild card in the woods, then by all means try this out! You can also opt for premium plastic Atoms for more stability.
