Discraft Undertaker Stable Fairway Driver

A popular fairway driver thrown by the likes of Paul Mcbeth and Missy Gannon, the Discraft Undertaker is great. It fills the stable fairway driver spot in the Discraft line-up and is uber-workable on any hole shape.

Right away, players will notice the fairly shallow rim depth which feels excellent in hand. Many backhand specialists will love the nearly flat top feel of the Discraft Undertaker.

Regarding the fairway driver's stability, the Undertaker is straight to stable when new. Players will find that a well-seasoned Discraft Undertaker, especially in ESP or Titanium plastic, will have a significant amount of turn, making it well-suited for woods golf.

Here’s what Discraft has to say about the Undertaker:

Most players have one versatile driver they reach for most often, and Undertaker is the new choice. This straight flyer fills many needs for many different skill levels: it doesn't get flippy for power throwers, isn't hard to control for low-power players. Great glide, smooth finish, nice grip, big wins.

This video from Discraft's YouTube channel gives a great demonstration of the Undertaker's characteristics.

Discraft Undertaker Flight Numbers

Speed: 9

Glide: 5

Turn: -1

Fade: 2

The flight numbers of the Discraft Undertaker suggest a stable flight out of the box. The stability of this fairway driver varies with plastic and as the disc breaks in more.

We find that the Undertaker is always reliable but can be broken into a perfect hyzer flip disc for woods golf.

Plastics

Z: The most stable run of Undertaker out of the box, Discraft’s Z plastic is grippy and stiff. Players looking to get the most out of their durability and stability will prefer Z plastic.

Big Z: Softer than standard Z, Big Z has a pearlescent look with good durability characteristics. An Undertaker in Big Z will fly stable at first but will eventually break in for a more mellow flight path.

ESP: A Discraft Undertaker in ESP plastic provides the softest and grippiest feel out of all runs. ESP tends to break in considerably faster than most plastics and is great for players looking to cycle discs.

Titanium: Similar to Big Z with a slightly stiffer feel, Discraft Ti plastic is usually more mellow out of the box. Titanium Undertaker’s gained popularity in the 4 Claw McBeth collection and are a great addition to any bag.

Discraft Undertaker Skill level recommendations

Beginner: The Discraft Undertaker will be stable to overstable for beginner disc golfers. For those who find the Anax a bit too much to handle and the Heat too unpredictable, the Undertaker will be a perfect fit in your fairway driver line-up.

Intermediate: If you’re a player who’s comfortable throwing high-speed discs on straight lines, the Undertaker will give you a ton of confidence off the tee and on the fairway. For intermediate disc golfers, the Discraft Undertaker will fly straight and be predictably stable on any line, similar to a faster Buzzz.

Advanced: Advanced players looking for the straightest flying fairway driver on the market will gravitate toward the Discraft Undertaker. Not only will you be able to throw with immense confidence on straight lines, but this disc has some serious distance potential for a 9-speed driver.
