Axiom Virus Understable Distance Driver

The Axiom Virus is an understable distance driver. This is one of the oldest discs in the Axiom lineup, it was approved by the PDGA back in 2014! Despite its age, the Virus is still popular among Gyronauts as one of the easiest-to-throw distance drivers on the disc golf market!

Beginners will love the combination of glide, manageable speed, and understability. Whether you enjoy backhand, forehand, or both, the Virus is a great disc to take your first step into the world of distance drivers!

It's not only new players that love the Virus. More advanced frolfers use it for hyzer flips, turnovers, and rollers.Ā

If any of these scenarios match you we have the Axiom Virus in Neutron and Proton for you. You can take a look at what we have to offer above!

Here's what Axiom has to say about the Virus:

The Virus is Axiomā€™s easiest-to-throw distance driver, with a glide and responsive understability that keeps it in the air. Power throwers will be able to flex huge turnover shots with straight forward fade. Average throwers will be able to extend and shape lines using the Virusā€™ turn and gentle fade. Compared to the MVP lineup, the Virus resembles a worn-in Impulse.

Flight Numbers

Speed: 9

Glide: 5

Turn: -3.5

As you can see this disc has some hefty understability. If you're a beginner this will make it really easy to throw. It will also produce full S-shaped flights that result in more distance.

Skill recommendations

Beginner:Ā If you're looking for more distance than you can get from your putters and mids this is the perfect choice! It's much more manageable than an 11, 12, or 13-speed. The thinner rim also makes it great for younger players with smaller handsĀ

Intermediate:Ā While this might not be your go-to distance driver you can still utilize it for massive turnovers, and effortless hyzer flips.

Advanced: Players with a lot of power may find discs like this one too flippy for the majority of shot shapes, but most carry one simply as a utility disc, for when they need something super understable, or they just want to throw a roller.
