Ken Climo has left an indelible mark on the sport of disc golf with a Hall of Fame career that can be simply surmised as dominant. Known as ā€œThe Champā€, Climo is the epitome of consistency, both in his play and his acumen for winning.

Climo won a staggering 12 Professional Disc Golf Association (PDGA) World Championship titles, which includes 9 straight from 1990-1998. During his reign of dominance, Climo also racked up 5 United States Disc Golf Championship (USDGC) victories, 3 PDGA Master World Championships and a career total professional win count of 229.

Beyond the accolades, Climo contributed to the growth and evolution of disc golf. His success brought increased visibility to the sport, inspiring countless players and fans alike. Climo was a pioneer in advancing disc golf as a professional sport, helping elevate competitive standards and pushing the boundaries of what the sport could achieve.

In 1995, Ken Climo was inducted into the Disc Golf Hall of Fame at only 27 years old, an acknowledgment of his immense contributions to the game. Even after stepping back from full-time competition, Climoā€™s legacy endures as a symbol of excellence and passion in disc golf. His impact on the sport is immeasurable, and his career remains a benchmark for aspiring disc golfers worldwide.

With the support of Discraft, Climo will launch the standalone brand, ā€œClimo Disc Golfā€, in 2025. The mission of Climo Disc Golf is to preserve and enhance ā€œThe Champā€™sā€ legacy today and forever.

Discs

At this point, Climo Disc Golf has 3 PDGA-approved molds:

  • Champ
  • Belleair
  • Skyway

The Champ is a beaded 2-speed putter with a stable flight.

The Bellair is marketed as a 5-speed mid with some stability, but it looks as if it will be flippier than intended.

The Skyway is a great beginner driver for those looking for easy distance!

Plastics

Currently, the Climo disc line is only produced in one plastic type. It is an opaque premium-level plastic with a soft gummy feel. Due to this, it might lack somewhat in durability.Ā It does not seem to be one of Discraft's existing plastics, so we're getting a completely new blend!
