Innova Lynx Review

The Innova Lynx is an understable fairway driver designed for easy distance and controlled line shaping. Formerly known as the Innova IT, it features a high-glide profile and pronounced high-speed turn. This allows the disc to generate extended lateral movement while maintaining forward penetration.

A common favorite for players with lower arm speed, the Innova Lynx is easy to get up to its intended flight. It also demonstrates moderate sensitivity to nose angle, encouraging proper form and release angles.

Flight and Control

The Innova Lynx exhibits a significant high-speed turn during the initial phase of flight. It can flip up from a hyzer angle into a flat trajectory. With additional power, it will continue into a controlled anhyzer line. This creates long, drifting flights with sustained understability.

Its glide is a defining characteristic. The disc maintains loft and forward carry with ease. This improves distance potential without requiring excessive force. The low-speed phase introduces only a mild fade. The mild fade at the end of the flight keeps the disc moving forward rather than finishing with a sharp hook.

The Innova Lynx shows moderate sensitivity to nose angle and off-axis torque, making clean form and angle control important for consistent results. Poor release angles or excessive torque can cause the disc to turn and burn early in the flight. Because of this, the Lynx can be a useful tool for refining throwing mechanics. It is also less reliable for forehand drives, as its understable flight and high glide can lead to greater inconsistency.

Innova Lynx Flight Numbers

With flight numbers 7 | 6 | -2 | 1, the Innova Lynx produces a multi-phase flight with plenty of glide throughout. It begins with a long, noticeable turn that creates workable movement down the fairway. As the disc slows, it gradually flattens out and finishes with a gentle fade.

This behavior allows for long turnover lines, controlled hyzer flips, and extended straight shots with slight drift. The high glide rating enhances hang time and carry distance. The low fade ensures a soft, controlled landing with reduced ground interaction.

Skill Level Recommendations

Beginners will benefit from the disc's understable flight and strong glide. These characteristics help players with lower arm speeds cover longer distances. It also encourages proper angle control and smooth form, rewarding clean release mechanics.

Intermediate players can use the Innova Lynx for controlled turnovers, hyzer flips, and other technical shots. Its responsiveness allows for precise shot shaping and improved consistency.

Advanced players can use the Innova Lynx for a variety of technical shots. These include rollers, hyzer flips, high turnovers, and low-power finesse lines. Its understable flight and minimal fade make it effective for shaping tight lines and navigating wooded courses with precision.
