MVP Detour Flight Numbers
5 | 5 | -2 | 1
The flight numbers for the MVP Detour are pretty darn spot on! It has a sweet amount of turn with a gentle fade back at the very end of the flight!
How It Flies
If there was one word to describe how the Detour flies it would have to be silk. It's about the smoothest thing we can think of! The amount of turn on this disc is truly in that sweet spot.
On hyzer flips you’ll get this to flip up easily and pan gently, before coming back with a very small fade! This is one of the straightest mids MVP has to offer right now!
This is a great disc for in the woods. It’s going to allow you to carve up just about any shot under 330 feet!
On top of the awesome flight path, the Detour also has fantastic glide! Consider bringing a stool next time you throw one so that you have somewhere to relax while you admire this disc’s effortless flight!
TK has surpassed once more with a great video review of the MVP Detour:
Backhands
Because it was designed for James Conrad, the Detour is largely optimized for backhands. If you’re ready to tear up a technical course, take the Detour along. It’ll be invaluable!
Release it flat and you’ll get a long flat turn, that eventually straightens out at the end of the flight. If you don’t enjoy throwing forehands, this could be the answer to your woes!
If you want a ridiculously straight flight, just put it on some hyzer. This thing is a laser!
When you throw the Detour on some anny you’ll get a long flat turnover all the way to the ground!
Forehands
We’re not huge fans of the Detour when it comes to forehand. It’s clear that that is not what MVP or James had in mind when they created this disc. If you are one of the few disc golfers who are avid fans of forehanding midranges, then you might enjoy this for touchy little flip-ups!

How It Feels
The Detour feels like butter in the hand! It’s got a super smooth rim, that makes you want to throw the best shot of your life every time you pick it up! It’s beadless and fairly low profile for a midrange. The flight plate is also very flat. This is perhaps one thing going in its favor for sidearm shots.
It feels amazing in your hand whether you hold it in a power grip or a fan grip! Smaller hands will also have no problem getting a grip on the manageable rim!

To conclude the MVP Detour is a super smooth understandable midrange that is perfect for tunnel shots, backhand turnovers, and hyzer flips. MVP and Axiom haven’t had anything quite like this in their lineup up till now, so if you’ve been feeling that gap, your need is now answered!
