The Pyro is Axiom’s first overstable midrange driver. The Prism Pyro is debuting with a stock triple-foil stamp, that in combination with a Proton core and Prism rim produces a stunning dual-toned translucent disc. The Prism Proton Pyro was designed as Axiom’s first overstable Midrange with more glide than the MVP Deflector and a commanding stable finish. The Pyro has enough stability for consistent flights in strong winds and powerful throws without losing its line and turning off target.
Flight Ratings: Speed 5, Glide 4, Turn 0, Fade 2.5
About the plastic: Proton has a great feel in the hand, typically on the stiffer side and they are often semi-transparent in looks. They are one of the more stable plastics out of Axiom besides Eclipse. These are extremely durable, and look really fantastic in vibrant colors.
I have a 173 gram Neutron Prism Pyro and 175 gram Proton Prism Pyro. The Proton Pyro has a bit more fade..like a 3. This disc knocked Roc3 out of my bag (much better hand feel and FH disc). It works great in headwinds and I love it for forehands. It’s my go to overstable mid.
Axiom Prism Proton Pyro
Yep that's what's up
Throw it however you want, it’s gonna hyzer out and finish. Super reliable. Throw it flat and it will push straight for a while and hook up for the finish. Give it a little hyzer and it’s gonna hold that hyzer and keep pushing left. Very useful disc. There’s quite a few discs that do what the pyro does, but nothing that feels like a pyro. It’s run just feels a little different. Some don’t like it. I love it. It’s comfy FH and BH for me.
It’s the zones big brother in my bag.
