Project Lab Coat MVP Disc Updates Explained

Project Lab Coat MVP Disc Updates Explained

Project Lab Coat is MVP Discs’ initiative to update how their discs look, not how they fly. According to MVP, the project focuses on visual clarity, consistency, and organization across their lineup while keeping molds, plastics, and performance exactly the same.

From the outset, MVP has been clear: Project Lab Coat is not a technology change. It is a visual and structural refresh centered on updated stock stamps and the transition to white GYRO rims as the new production standard.

What Is Project Lab Coat?

Project Lab Coat is MVP’s long-term plan to modernize and standardize the visual identity of their stock discs. MVP describes the project as a way to create a cleaner, more cohesive look across brands and plastics. It aims to make discs easier to recognize on the course and on retail shelves.

The project focuses on two core updates:

1. Refreshing and standardizing stock stamp designs
2. Moving to white GYRO rims for MVP Discs production starting in 2026

Flight, feel, and performance remain unchanged.

The Shift to White GYRO Rims

The most visible change under Project Lab Coat is the move to white GYRO rims.

MVP has stated that all MVP Discs will be produced with white GYRO rims in all runs starting in 2026 and beyond. This change improves visibility during flight and on the ground, while maintaining the same gyro performance players expect.

Importantly, rim color does not affect flight.

For players who prefer black rims, MVP has clarified that Axiom Discs will continue offering black GYRO rims as part of their standard color options, preserving that look within the Axiom lineup.

Stock Stamp Updates: What Is Changing and What Is Not

A major part of Project Lab Coat involves updating MVP’s stock stamps. MVP has clarified that not every stock stamp is changing, and updates fall into three clear categories.

Some stamps already meet MVP’s modern design standards and will remain unchanged. These include:

MVP Eclipse
Axiom Eclipse
Axiom Total Eclipse
Simon Line Discs
James Conrad Line Discs

These designs are already clean, and aligned with MVP’s current visual direction.

Meanwhile, some stamps will receive small visual updates while keeping their original concepts intact. These refinements may include adjustments to line weight, spacing, or contrast.

Examples include, our Fission and Plasma lines.

The goal here is clarity, not reinvention.

Other stamps will be fully overhauled to take advantage of modern printing capabilities and to better align with MVP’s updated visual standards.

These include the following lines:

MVP Neutron
MVP Cosmic Neutron
MVP Proton
MVP Electron
Axiom Neutron
Axiom Proton
Axiom Electron

MVP has stated that this redesign process has been months in the making and will continue as Project Lab Coat rolls out.

What Is Changing and What Is Staying the Same

Under Project Lab Coat, MVP is changing how its discs are presented visually. Stock stamp designs are being updated at varying levels depending on the line. Visual consistency is being improved across MVP and Axiom discs, and MVP Discs production will transition to white GYRO rims beginning in 2026.

MVP has emphasized that Project Lab Coat does not affect how discs fly. Players can continue cycling discs and trusting backups without concern.

Availability and Rollout

Project Lab Coat will roll out gradually as inventory refreshes. Older and updated stamps will coexist during the transition, allowing players and retailers to adjust naturally.

Popular molds will appear with updated visuals first, while other molds follow over time. MVP will continue providing updates as additional stock stamps are refreshed.

The Big Picture

According to MVP, Project Lab Coat is about clarity, not disruption. The discs players trust remain the same, only the presentation evolves.

With refreshed stamps, MVP is improving how clearly discs are identified. White GYRO rims increase visibility on the course. A more consistent visual structure makes the lineup easier to understand. Throughout these updates, MVP is preserving the performance that built the brand.

In MVP’s words and actions, Project Lab Coat is a visual upgrade designed to support players and not force change.
