May 2023 Disc Golf Drops & Releases
What we have returning in May is one of the biggest drops of the year that you will certainly not want to miss out on. Back in March MVP partnered with OTB to release some excellent discs in some very unique plastics, and this month even more of these discs will be hitting the market! MVP isn’t the only manufacturer giving us some new molds though, you can see a full list of releases for May here:

Discmania C-Line CD1

The CD1, formerly known as the CD2, has been reinvented and brought back in Discmania’s new and improved C-Line plastic. “CD” stands for Control Driver and that is how to describe this disc; Control.
The CD1 one is a useful, slightly overstable driver for beginners, and for more advanced players will provide the control they need for their distance shots. If you are a forehand dominant player then no need to worry, it performs well however you throw it.
Discmania describes their CD1 as a longer FD or a well-seasoned PD having the right amount of glide and shot shaping options but will always maintain enough stability to end with a smooth low speed fade in the end.
The new C-Line plastic from Discmania is super durable and is probably the most beautiful clear plastic from any manufacturer. Here’s what Eagle says about the CD1:
“The CD1 is great for all different skill-levels and it feels incredibly comfortable in the hand. This disc is one of the best teachers for a forehand as well. It is very symmetrical and has a really good amount of torque resistance, so you’re able to throw it pretty hard and you get these really straight lines with very soft finishes.”

2023 OTB Open Special Edition Discs
Whether you didn’t get anything from the last drop, or you bought every single mold, we have some new discs and plastics for you from MVP, Axiom and Streamline. These stamps and plastics really are remarkable.

Axiom Total Eclipse Envy

The Envy is one of the most popular Putt & Approach discs on the market, being an excellent driving putter, consistent for upshots and even a great putting putter. It is stable which will provide extra consistency to your upshots.
These Envy’s come in Total Eclipse plastic where not only the center of the disc glows, but also the Gyro overmold.
Axiom Proton Hex

The Hex is a mesmerizingly straight flying midrange that is very versatile and reliable. The Hex will produce a slightly understable flight with the fade kicking in at the end to finish in a reliable fade. It is also known as one of the greatest flick midranges in the game.
Proton plastic is typically on the stiffer side and is semi-transparent in looks. They are extremely durable and are generally on the more overstable side.
Streamline Proton Soft Echo

The Echo is the newest disc in the midrange lineup from Streamline. It has a deep rim that will hold a straight path for most of the flight and a good grip for throwing both backhand and forehand.
Proton Soft plastic is as durable, and stable as Proton but not as stiff.
MVP Eclipse 2.0 Uplink

The Uplink is a versatile midrange disc that can be used by players of all skill levels. Its design allows experienced players to shape lines with touch anhyzers or hyzer-flips through wooded courses, while newer players can appreciate its straight and controllable flight path.
It is made with Eclipse 2.0 plastic, one of the best glow plastics on the market. It has a smooth feel that provides excellent grip. This plastic is stiffer and more overstable than other plastics produced by MVP.
MVP Proton Soft Ohm

The Ohm is inspired by the Streamline Pilot but with MVP’s Gyro rim. It has a laser straight flight path for off the tee or upshots. The shape provides a reliable grip with loads of glide. You can also use it inside the circle for confident putts.

Streamline Eclipse 2.0 Flare

The Flare is the first overstable distance driver from Streamline and is designed for a flight with minimal turn, ending in a powerfully overstable finish, and a reserved glide to prevent going long on the approach.
It is made with Eclipse 2.0 plastic, one of the best glow plastics on the market. It has a smooth feel that provides excellent grip. This plastic is stiffer and more overstable than other plastics produced by Streamline.
MVP Cosmic Neutron Tesla

The Tesla’s responsive design balances a subtle turn and reliable fade, while a pronounced glide and forward finish gain extra distance. This makes it a great choice for shots that need long-range pinpoint accuracy.
Cosmic Neutron is the durable Neutron plastic with added brightly colored Cosmic Swirls.
MVP Cosmic Neutron Matrix

The Matrix is a precision overstable midrange that brings consistency to your midrange game. It is designed to resist turnover for all power levels and situations and its stability is best described as a longer Envy. It should have a long straight travel followed by a dependable fade.
Cosmic Neutron is the durable Neutron plastic with added brightly colored Cosmic Swirls.
MVP Proton Soft Deflector

The Deflector is a super overstable midrange that eliminates any chance of turning over. Whether you release this with anhyzer or flat, it will fight out to finish in a strong fade. Use this disc as a great get out of jail tool.

Axiom MCO Simon Lizotte Fission Proxy

What better way to celebrate Simon’s first DGPT Elite Series win with MVP than with the first ever run of the Fission Proxy? Simon brought home the win from the Chase Card, finishing with 8 straight birdies on the back 9!
The Proxy shares the Envy mold’s core, lending the same low-profile feel and solid grip, along with a short wing width and wide flight plate diameter for superior glide. It sets itself apart from the Envy with a remarkably straight forward-fading finish.
More experienced players will enjoy the understability of the Proxy, being able to throw a hyzer flip that will just keep turning. Beginners will find the Proxy to deliver dead straight flights with a soft finish at the end.
Fission plastic is the same as Neutron but with added Microbubble technology to make them lightweight.

Streamline Neutron Echo

The Echo is the newest disc in Streamlines midrange lineup. It flies really straight and is capable of touch hyzer flips and controlled turnovers for high power players. Lower power players will find it to be an amazing straight flyer with a reliable fade.
The Echo is certainly going to be a staple for wooded golf, having the ability to hit tight gaps and navigate tough fairways. Whether you’re a pro or a newer player, the Echo will provide you with some beautiful lines.

Thought Space Athletics Glow Mana

The Glow Mana is TSA’s newest midrange. It has an understable flight path that you can rely on to have a consistent turn without much of the ending fade. This versatile disc is great for maneuvering around objects on the course to help guide you towards the basket and dial in your approaches.
It makes a good midrange for beginners being more understable, providing a disc that will have a straight flight with a reliable ending fade.
Thought Space’s Glow plastic is the equivalent of MVP’s Eclipse, making it one of the finest glow plastics around. Not to mention that their stamps are always some of the best around.

Clash Discs Blueberry Glow Berry

The Berry is a straight flying midrange that works for everybody. For beginners it will have a straight flight with a consistent fade at the end, and more experienced players will be able to get this disc to turn more and expect it to slowly come out and finish with a soft fade.
It has a good amount of glide for a midrange and will hold whatever line you put it on. Release it with anhyzer and it will turn the whole way, flat and it will have a slight turn and fade and if you throw it with hyzer it will flip slightly but still have a reliable fade.
Blueberry Glow is Clash Discs new glow plastic that shines with a nice blue hue. They are durable with good grip.

Discmania S-Line DD1

The DD1 is Discmania’s answer to controlled distance. Cited to be the DD3’s little brother, it features a less overstable flight and more narrow flight path.
The DD1 is famous for its straight and accurate flight path, making it a great tool in the woods. It has a smaller rim than the DD3 giving you that extra confidence you need when facing a tight fairway and a nice dome that gives you the optimal amount of glide.
The comfortable feel this disc has, plus the excellent grip the S-Line plastic provides in any weather condition guarantees that you will fall in love with this disc.

Trash Panda Putter Plastic Inner Core

Trash Panda’s goal was to make a premium putter for everyone that flew dead straight, didn’t use a single additive, and remained 100% recycled and recyclable. They accomplished that with the Premium Plastic Inner Core and now they are releasing it in a new Putter Plastic.
The Inner Core flies straight and is a great choice for touchy upshots that need to hold any angle making it perfect for in the woods. It is a great putter for beginners and less experienced players that are learning to throw. Mint Discs Apex Swirl Longhorn

The Longhorn is one of Mint Discs most requested restocks ever, being out of stock since 2021, and is now returning and will be in Apex Swirl plastic for the first time. It makes a perfect compliment to the Freetail providing that extra bit of stability for more experienced players or shots that need a stronger finish.
The Longhorn is a distance driver that is designed to flip to flat and hold up until a reliable fade, and is able to resist moderate winds. It can offer distance but still have a good amount of control. Players with a strong forehand can rely on the Longhorn to fly straight with a slight, reliable fade.
The Apex Swirl plastic is a durable premium plastic with beautiful looking swirls.

Kastaplast K1 First Run Krut

The Krut is a new overstable distance driver from Kastaplast offering a very overstable flight that is able to hold up to the strongest headwinds without a worry of turning over. Rip out on an anhyzer shot and rely on the stability to bring the disc back with a slight fade. If released flat it will have a strong hook to the left and may finish with a good skip. It also is a good choice for overhand shots.
Not only can backhand dominant players use the Krut, but forehand players will find it to be a useful tool in their bag for distance and controlled shots. These K1 Kruts come in Kastaplast’s Mint Green color that they release their First Run discs in.

2023 Trilogy Team Series
Every year players sponsored by a major disc golf brand will have the opportunity to have their own Team Series disc. Westside Discs Tournament-X Burst Matt Orum Harp

The Harp is an overstable Putt and Approach disc. It works well for forehand upshots having the stability to pull out of an anhyzer or have a strong finish on a flat release. You can use the Harp forehand or backhand to improve your approaching consistency.
Tournament-X is a premium plastic that has good grip and long lasting durability. They are generally stiffer, and more overstable than the regular Tournament plastic.
Dynamic Discs Fuzion Orbit Kona Montgomery Escape

The Escape is a stable fairway driver known for its glide. It is a fantastic disc golf driver for those of all skill levels. Fuzion Orbit takes the durable, grippy Fuzion plastic and adds beautiful, colored swirls around the rim making these discs look incredible.

The Culprit is a lower profile, more torque resistant upshot disc making it able to handle both forehand and backhand shots and stay close to the basket. Dynamic Discs Lucid-X Chameleon Ricky Wysocki Sockibomb Slammer

The Sockibomb Slammer is a super overstable approach disc that will find a way to fade out of whatever amount of anhyzer you put it on. The Slammer features a thumbtrack in the rim providing a good feel for forehand grips and works just as well with a backhand. Relying on the dependable fade will allow you to increase consistency in your upshots.
Lucid-X Chameleon is a durable plastic that will generally offer more overstable flights. The disc will shift color depending on the angle of light and background.
